Academy headmaster Mr. Gregg Garner facilitates the first chapel of the year for Junior High and High School students. In these weekly chapels, teachers share about God’s work in their own lives, and encourage students to engage in the spiritual disciplines of prayer and worship.
Language Arts is much more enjoyable outside on a beautiful fall day! These students are learning about the element of ‘setting’ in a story. Surrounded by fresh sounds, sights and smells, they practice writing a paragraph to describe the setting around them. On nice days, we do as many classes as we can outside!
Students enjoy hands-on games during recess. Recognizing the vast array of human gifting and learning styles, teachers at the Academy encourage development through a vast array of methods, from hands-on kinesthetic tasks to musical song and rhymes; from interpersonal group exercises to quiet times of personal, written work.
Professional musician and recording technician Britt Edwards demonstrates to a high school student the art of tuning an acoustic guitar in band class. With the involvement of over 60 teachers at G.O.D. Academy we are able to offer kids highly specialized instruction in each of their classes.
These girls excitedly designed a thank you card to an Academy donor, whose generous contribution will go towards the building of four new school buildings. Academy students are eagerly involved in raising awareness and funds for their ‘new school’.
