The behavior incentive chart is full!

Highlights from the Past Two Weeks:

  • Last Thursday afternoon, the class earned their final stamp on the 100 point class incentive chart in order to earn a Hot Chocolate Brownie Movie Party.
    • We added 25 more points to the chart to see if they can earn a bonus to their party by Thursday, December 15!
      • On Friday, December 9, they earned the final stamp of the extra 25.
        • Next Thursday, December 15, we will be having our hot chocolate, brownie, movie surprise party from 12:00-2:00pm.
  • Students keep bringing in the most fun videos and projects to share with the class from their Language Arts homework. Thank you, parents for the part you play in making reading an enjoyable experience for your child and even your family!
  • Mr. Muñoz came and taught us about Hudson Taylor, a missionary to China, for our Heroes of Faith class last week.
  • The students have worked diligently on our books for Language Arts over the past two weeks. Everyone has now finished their final copy of words and pictures, so we will be creating their covers next week and presenting them to the class to finish our semester with a celebration of these young writers.
  •  Collages are finished after weeks of much thought and work. I hope your child has found a fun space to display their work in your home!
  • Parents Night was a hit. Thank you for all who came last Thursday to enjoy an evening at school, learning about all that makes up your child's days at school. We loved having you!
  • Students practiced so much for their Themes, Laws and Verses quiz both at school and at home.
    • Due to illness, I was unable to be at school for a majority of this week, so the quiz was postponed until Tuesday, December 13. This will give us a couple of extra days to memorize everything. I have stressed the importance of getting these things in our hearts so they are easy to remember when we need them most.
  • Rollerball! With several rainy days over the past couple of weeks, we have been able to go to the basketball court for Blue's favorite team activity. On Monday of this week, students from Mr. Muñoz and Mrs. Moore's classes joined our games as well and it was a riot.
  • Last Wednesday, my wonderful friend Allison (Mrs. A) from college came to visit for the afternoon. She and her family were here in town for a conference, so she snuck away and got to come and have a blast with us during board games and wrap up. She was impressed by the hospitality and thoughtfulness of our students!
  • To wrap up our semester of origami, each student was placed on a team with 4-5 other students who finished the semester around the same level of difficulty as them. On their teams, they were required to choose from a final project and work together to finish it. It went really well and teams impressed me left and right with their ability to think through working together as a team, making decisions and implementing their work.
  • Human Foosball with Mr. Muñoz! You'll have to ask your child about this one cause it was a blast!
