This week, the four of us (myself, Austin, Tim, and Shaun) all have various objectives we are working to accomplish. Because our time is limited, it’s even more important that we have a plan for each day. We begin every day in prayer, asking the LORD to guide us, to give us discernment and favor as we are attempting to fit so much into a short amount of time. He has been good to us and we are thankful for what we’ve been able to complete thus far.
Today, Clark drove Austin, Shaun and Tim around Tacloban and the surrounding area. Since our SEA team has chosen to focus our efforts here in Tacloban, it’s essential that we gain a thorough awareness of what is here and around us. Austin was able to get much needed video footage that will be used to help create informative, educational videos. Tim spent his time gathering information to help map out Tacloban, highlighting places that are noteworthy and significant to our team. Shaun took on the role of secondary photographer and was able to capture some images that will help us better convey the area we are working in.
I spent time at Tahanan, taking inventory and planning out purchases that will make our space a more hospitable, purposeful environment. I then went out to a few stores in order to gather some of these supplies as well as to purchase gifts that we will be taking to the women’s prison tomorrow.
This type of work may seem laborious, and to some, even unnecessary. However, what happens ‘behind the scenes’ is a necessary component to the work that we do. Our attention to detail and making our work the best we possibly can, is reflective of our love for God. We work for the LORD! We task, we’re thorough, we get things done, we check things off our lists, and we do so prayerfully and with careful consideration.
We are moving into our final days here this week and there is still much to be done. We are continuing to press on, with faith, believing that the LORD will help us accomplish what he’s put on our hearts to do. “And whatever you do, in word or deed, do everything in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God the Father through him.” Col. 3:17
