Mike and Betsy Johnson met in Tijuana, Mexico in 2005 when they were both employed as short-term mission facilitators. Shortly after, they both decided to move to Nashville, TN to study at the Institute for G.O.D. Int’l in order to become trained development workers (2005-6). Mike completed a degree in Biblical Studies and Betsy completed a degree in Missiology. They continue to dedicate themselves to learning God's word in the classroom as Mike pursues his missiology degree and Betsy her Masters degree in Community Development. They have been married since 2006 and have 4 children: Samuel (2008), Reyah (2010) Kade (2011), and Audrey (2015).
Mike works with the Resource Management sphere of G.O.D. Int’l as an accountant. Mike has been heavily involved in building projects both at our headquarters in Tennessee as well as in the Latin America team’s hub in El Salvador.
Betsy serves as the principal at The Academy for G.O.D. She spends the majority of her time working with and educating children, both her own and her students.
The Johnsons have spent a significant amount of time living and serving in the Latin America region, and are some of the forerunners for transplanting a community into that region.
