God's Spirit Moving in our Midst

Last week during chapel, God's Spirit moved. There's really no other way to talk about it. The students were very impacted by Mr. Dailey's sermon about being the light of Christ (Matthew 5). He emphasized how each of our students are at the age where they can take learning the bible really seriously, and how it will give them the next steps to take in life. He closed with how they can each be peacemakers in a world that produces anything but peace. God would give them that ability through his word.

During worship, the students were sincere, raising their hands up to God and asking him for help. At one point, one by one students came to their knees in prayer and in song. It was so precious to witness. These students were being touched by our God! Teachers (including myself) went around and prayed for each student specifically with encouragement and words of faith. Towards the end (over an hour of worship) students began to rise with puffy eyes and pure hearts. They also knew that God had done something really special that day.

Afterwards, we brought lunch down to the students and they had a time of testimony and thanksgiving for what God had done in their midst. For me, it was one of the most precious moments I've experienced since I started teaching at the Academy. It's a moment none of us will soon forget.

Here is a picture that Mr. Dailey snapped while he was playing guitar in the worship band. I think it perfectly captures our time together in worship.
